Santa will arrive at the intersection of Vantage Drive and Flintstone Road at 10:00 AM on Saturday\, December 19th\, accompanied by a Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Squad Truck! However\, due to social distancing guidelines\, he will only ride through the neighborhood in a small parade. We encourage your kids to wave from your front yards or sidewalks to help spread holiday cheer.

SUMMARY:Neighborhood Food Drive
DESCRIPTION:After polling neighbors on Facebook and discussion at our last meeting\, the Vantage Board has decided to cancel this year’s picnic at the Swirly Slide Park due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19. However\, as an alternative community event\, we are holding a contactless Neighborhood Food Drive to help those in our area who are not as fortunate as ourselves.\n\nWe will be donating to the Capital Area Food Bank\, which serves the entire DC metro area with an average of 88\,000 meals per day. \n\nList of “most wanted” foods\n\nIf you would like to participate\, please leave non-perishable foods on your doorstep by 10 AM on Saturday\, September 19th and email board@vantagehoa.org the night before to let us know. A board member or volunteer will stop by to collect the food later that day to deliver it to the food bank. No one will ring your doorbell and the pickup will be completely contactless.\n\nAnother option is to make a cash donation directly to the Capital Area Food Bank. Every dollar provides 2.5 meals to those in need. \n\nLastly\, if you would like to volunteer to help gather food\, please sign up on our volunteer page. Thanks for being wonderful neighbors!
